About Us

Homoeopathic Psychiatric Association is a professional body comprising Homoeopathic Psychiatrists, Postgraduate students in Homoeopathic Psychiatry, and Homoeopathic practitioners holding a Master's degree in Psychology. The association is dedicated to advancing mental health care through a holistic and personalized approach that integrates the principles of homoeopathy with modern psychiatric understanding. In alignment with our commitment to inclusivity and interdisciplinary collaboration, we also welcome Homoeopathic doctors and individuals with a genuine interest in the field as associate members. This initiative aims to foster knowledge exchange, encourage meaningful research, enhance the current psychiatric care framework, and promote a deeper understanding of the potential of Homoeopathic psychiatry in effectively managing mental health conditions.

Our Mission

We strive to support our graduates in practicing safely and ethically by adhering to regulations within and outside Kerala, ensuring they maintain their credibility and professional value as psychiatrists. In addition, we aim to enhance the quality of mental health care by promoting holistic and affordable treatments through Homoeopathic Psychiatry. Our focus includes raising awareness, especially among the younger generation, about mental well-being and early intervention, while also working to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues through education and open conversations.

Memberships

Our membership is open to professionals in the fields of Homoeopathy, Psychiatry, and Psychology, including regular members, associate members, and student members. Each membership category is designed to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and active involvement  in advancing mental health care. What We Do

We focus on providing advanced mental health interventions and psychiatric treatments using well-proven homoeopathic remedies at an affordable cost to the people of Kerala. Building on this foundation, we conduct research and studies to refine our approaches and aim to expand these protocols nationwide. To support this mission, we hold monthly meetings on the 10th of every month from 9:00 to 10:30 PM. These meetings serve as a platform to discuss agendas for improving association activities, strategies, and collaborative efforts. Clinical case discussions, mental health awareness topics, and current social issues are also key focus areas during these sessions.

Education and Training

We organize workshops, webinars, and training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of mental health professionals. Through collaborations with institutions like NHRIMH and CCRH, we aim to carry out advanced research and develop innovative approaches to mental health care, furthering our mission of providing effective and affordable treatments.

Publications

We have successfully published two annual e-magazines featuring expert articles on mental health topics. Although not yet registered, we plan to register the magazine after the third edition. Each edition focuses on the mental health theme of the year, addressing relevant issues and promoting awareness. We invite articles from professionals across the nation to provide diverse perspectives, aiming to reduce the stigma associated with mental health challenges and to support the people of our state and country.

Annual Meeting

The annual meeting is a significant event where we review progress, share achievements, and discuss the future direction of the association. While we always plan for offline sessions, our busy schedules and activities often lead us to conduct these meetings online. However, for the upcoming year, we are aiming to organize a grand in-person event, provided our team members are able to accommodate it in their schedules.

Outreach Activities

We actively conduct public awareness programs to promote mental health and reduce stigma. Our agenda includes organizing a minimum of two camps annually under our banner and collaborating with other organizations to enhance our reach and impact. While only a few camps have been conducted so far, we are committed to strengthening this effort in the coming year. Each year, we schedule various mental health programs tailored to different groups, including students, older adults, homemakers, and working professionals, to improve their mental well-being. Additionally, we host an annual poster-making competition based on the year’s Mental Health Day theme, encouraging creativity and awareness among participants.

Clinical Services

We provide a range of clinical services, including general and psychiatric clinics, as well as homoeopathic pharmacy services. Self-assessment tools, such as anxiety and depression rating scales, are available through our website and clinics to help patients better understand their mental health. Counseling, as a supportive homoeopathic measure, is an integral part of our protocol. In collaboration with clinical psychology professionals, we are developing structured counseling guidelines to enhance the skills of our psychiatrists and improve treatment outcomes. Our commitment extends to reducing stigma associated with mental health consultations by encouraging patients to seek care confidently. We ensure individualized treatment protocols tailored to each case. Additionally, we collaborate with allopathic psychiatry doctors to provide comprehensive care, integrating homoeopathy with conventional treatments for the best possible outcomes.

Collaborations

We partner with educational institutions, academies, and organizations to promote mental health awareness and training in homoeopathic psychiatry. At this initial stage, our experienced doctors are actively collaborating with community organizations, local educational institutions, and workplaces to conduct mental health awareness programs. Our Camp Planning Committees are committed to organizing camps that focus on providing mental health awareness to those in need. Additionally, the Academic Committee manages teaching faculties in various institutions within and outside Kerala and works with the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) to oversee curriculu improvements. These efforts ensure our training programs remain updated and effective in advancing the field.

Support Team

Our association is guided by an experienced advisory board and supported by active members and well-wishers, all committed to advancing mental health care. The members of our association actively contribute to its growth, recognizing that improvements in this field enhance their clinical practice by making it more unique, standardized, and effective. They also understand the importance of teamwork in career development and in addressing legal challenges, as the treatment methods and protocols in this field require careful adherence and collaboration for success. We also include well-wishers who have a history of benefiting from treatment or participating in camp-organizing collaborations for their families or workplaces. These individuals, having witnessed the positive impact of our association's work, are encouraged to apply for well-wisher memberships. This initiative is under active consideration by our association to foster deeper community connections and expand our collaborative efforts.

Our Vision

Our vision is to make holistic mental health care accessible to all while promoting the acceptance of homoeopathic psychiatry. As we recognize that most of the physical health conditions often have a psychological basis, Homoeopathy’s individualized treatment approach, using characteristic remedies, not only aids in the patient’s recovery but also helps them build resilience to prevent similar issues in the future. Our vision is to treat the patient as a person, ensuring their mental and physical wellbeing by enriching their susceptibility.
